What is this site?: A riding-by-riding guide for the October 24, 2026 BC election, for voters whose first priority is defeating the NDP candidate where they live. The anti-NDP vote is split between several parties, and a split vote can hand a riding to the NDP on 35 percent.
Who runs it?: One person, as a personal, non-commercial publication of their own political views. No party, candidate or campaign is involved, and nobody is paid. No money is spent promoting it.
How are the picks made?: From the 2024 riding result, candidate strength and incumbency, and published riding-level projections, each cited on the riding page. The full method, including its limits, is on the methodology page.
Why does my riding say “pick pending”?: Because no recommendation is published there yet. The election was called September 22 and candidates are still being nominated; picks are published riding by riding as the field settles, rather than guessed early.
Where does the candidate list come from?: Two places. Official nominations come from Elections BC's candidate list, which this site re-checks every six hours. Before nominations are official, candidates announced by parties or reported in the press appear with an “announced” label and a source link. Announced entries are tentative and get corrected as official data lands.
Would you ever recommend a Green candidate?: No. In our judgement the BC Greens have voted with the NDP government on the matters this site cares about, so a Green vote is not a vote against the NDP. Green candidates still appear in riding listings because they are on the ballot.
Is this paid for by anyone?: No. No paid ads, no boosts, no sponsors, no donations. That keeps the site a personal publication under the BC Election Act rather than registered election advertising.
Do you track me?: No accounts, no cookies, no personal data. Address searches go straight from your browser to the BC government geocoder, and location lookups never leave your device. Traffic is measured only as aggregate page counts.
Where and when do I vote?: That information comes from Elections BC, not from us: elections.bc.ca/voting.
I found an error.: Write to corrections@anyonebuteby.ca and it gets fixed. Every claim carries a source, so point at the claim and, if you have one, a better source.
